My Sweet Michelle,

      Mom once told me about the time when you came over in the middle of the night to help her because she had fallen and she didn't want any of us to worry since we live out of town. Due to the distance, it was especially important to my family and I that mom have dependable care, but also a caregiver who genuinely cares. When you got mom's call that night we were in the process of changing agencies because her current caregiver (with that agency) was less than satisfactory. We later found out she quit that evening and left mom alone without notifying us- which caused mom to end up on the floor. Mom said the caregiver got mad and stormed out after mom said something to her because she was on the phone when mom was shouting for help, but the caregiver ignored her. That’s when mom fell! Mom should have called 911, but she didn’t want to worry us. I'm just glad mom had the courage to stand up for herself, but it's sad what she went through. 

      When you came to mom's rescue we were just getting started with the paperwork to start services with your company, but we weren't officially signed up with Hearts of Ireland just yet. As my family and I came to know you, we understood this was a normal thing for you... to come to peoples aid. You have such a generous and kind heart. I can't say this special treatment and kindness was expected, but it was certainly appreciated. 

       As you know, mom has taken great pride in her autonomy all of these years, so I appreciate your tact and kindness and honoring her privacy.
